Recently this month I had per-allocated some funds for travel expenses where I was anticipating that I would need to travel back and forth where it was better to purchase a monthly pass of sorts for unlimited travel. Unfortunately, there had been a lot of cancellations from one party which as a result meant I didn’t need to travel as much as I thought. While I could just say that was a huge waste of money, at times like these I tend to try and use up my monthly services one way or another.
So what I did was that I found extra things to do and explore. For example, I made time to visit and document places that are further away than normal. At the same time, encouraging myself to even reconnect with people who I don’t often get to see as much. I always see scenarios like these as a good opportunity to use your resources that you already paid a lot of money for in different ways.
Or at minimum, find ways to potentially exchange it for something you actually need with another where the trade is equally beneficial to both. Just allowing these things to expire and go to waste just seems like the easy way out. Like the saying on how if life give you lemons make lemonade out of it.
