The other day a person gave me a bunch of apples because they were on sale. I suppose it’s one of those things, because usually when I find good deals I get them for people, so I guess this was the reverse. Now with so many apples there, I was thinking, because normally I do buy a lot of juice just because I’d rather make it, but it just takes a lot of time, so sometimes I just buy the store-bought ones. But with so many fresh apples, I was thinking I should just make some, and that’s where the interesting thing occurred. When I was looking at the prices, it’s true that if you cook your own food instead of dining out, you can save a lot of money. For example, maybe a twenty-dollar dinner at some restaurant you could literally feed yourself for a couple of days, or even a week if you’re really frugal, for that amount of money. Same thing when it comes to items like juice.
Making your own fresh juice, you can save so much money. I was simply looking for some carrots and some limes, for example. I find that usually goes well with some homemade apple juice. And when you look at the fresh juice you can buy at the store, normally for a little less than one liter, it costs about seven dollars, and that’s crazy. I know people can justify it in their head by saying, well, it’s healthier, of course it’s better than the artificial stuff. But when you look at that, if you’re going to go to that extent to eat healthy in that regard, just make it yourself.
You save so much money. The only issue I have in terms of making your stuff yourself in this regard is the cleanup. Especially with those juicers, they just take a long time, usually just to clean everything up. If somebody invented something to make everything really easy, I’d be juicing every single day non-stop. But it’s something to think about, where you could save so much money by simply making the stuff yourself when it comes to juice, for example, or food. You don’t need to do some type of extreme budgeting. Just making the stuff yourself can save you so much money.
