I was reading an interesting article today about a family who got extremely lucky with the housing market situation here and its high prices. Essentially they sold their house for over one million dollars and have decided to travel to various cities for a year with their kids. I was wondering how that would work for education and from what I read they would be home schooled for that period of time.
I have often heard that when people make a lot of money they tend to take more vacations throughout the year. But this is kind of interesting as it’s almost like you are dropping everything you are comfortable and used to for the sake of gaining experiencing in life elsewhere. For most people that isn’t even fathomable even with one million dollars as you still have to eventually come home and such.
In many ways it kind of would be interesting in terms of gaining financial knowledge as it show you the options you would have in life where money as you know it would probably be so different. While you could say half a million isn’t enough for a good home where you live maybe elsewhere it would only be like one hundred thousand as an example. At the same time you could probably learn so many different ways to live in general that reduces your dependency on money. But are you willing to drop everything in life and take a leap of faith to experience such a thing? Scary decision especially if you have a young and growing family.
