This was kind of surprising as recently I have been getting e-mails from the company Bed Bath And Beyond where like in the past they offered people coupons to shop from them. Not too long ago they pretty much liquidated all of their stores in Canada and the assumption is they will do the same in the US. This makes it appear that they are still in business but trying to operate more as an online company. I suppose they could save more money that way not having to rely on a physical store and potentially offer items for less.
I wonder if that would work considering there are so many established e-commerce stores like Amazon already where for this company having the physical locations was a competitive advantage. As well, having the ability to actually see the product and get it right away probably helps with profits many times versus someone online who can instantly check the prices everywhere.
I will be surprised if they can turn things around as for myself I often viewed this store brand as expensive but potentially convenient. So I only shopped there if I really had to. They say never give up. But you have to wonder if that company is like a Blockbuster at this point.
