I usually enjoy watching wrestling and recently there was an interesting business decision it seems as there was this wrestler performing under the name Chelsea Green that was labelled it seems behind the scenes internally as someone that helps to move other talent forward as they don’t see her as the main attraction. It appeared though that the audience took a liking to her which I supposed didn’t go ignored by the executives. Recently, due to an injury with the company’s big start they decided to place the title on her and a lot of people were happy.
It makes you think as many times people are so focused in trying to make their bosses happy as a way to potentially get those opportunities. But that’s common where if someone internally doesn’t see you as worthy per se you will never get it. On the other hand, if the company’s own customers start expressing how they value that worker to the point where it can mean the difference of making more or less money you bet they will pay attention.
So like there, is it more important to always focus on building say your personal brand a relationship with the customers instead of trying to convince the boss you deserve those opportunities? It reverses the situation as the attention you are getting means they need to do all they can to keep you.
