Many times when companies offer you those personalized deals to earn points on product purchases that can be a result of the item itself being sold at a regular price to make up for the points that will be given to you. That means sometimes it can actually be a better deal to just wait for a sale as you would actually be saving money.
This was an interesting situation though as I was reading how Walmart was having a sale on can tuna for under one dollar which is a great price to stock up on if you consume it normally. Now with that other supermarkets such as Superstore appeared to drop their prices as well to sell it for under one dollar. On top of that, I actually had a reward offer from that store where every can of tuna you buy they would give you 200 points which is about twenty cents. While there was a limit of four, I did indeed buy four of them at that price.
Sometimes stores do have stipulations saying that the product itself has to be at a regular price for the reward to be earned. However, a lot of times these offers go through in the same way that people stack coupons on a sales item. You don’t even have to do the price matching yourself too which is great to avoid potential hassles.
