I am currently on the hunt for a new chair as the extremely cheap one I bought over a year ago seems to be running its course. This time I had the thought of investing in a more expensive one in hopes that it would last a very long time. That led me to see various chairs such as ones that range in the thousands which really makes me wonder how a chair can ever cost that much money.
I just can’t fathom the parts and labor to make a chair would even be close to $1000. In that case, it just makes me think like most furniture stores the items are usually marked up like crazy. Although, a lot of people seem to swear by these types of chairs with a “you get what you pay for” type of routine. Can you ever imagine spending this much for an item like this? It just keeps running through my head on how many other stuff I could buy for $1000.
It almost makes me want to find a part time job in a furniture store for the sake of learning the ins and outs on how the pricing schemes usually are. At this rate, it seems like all the “quality” chairs are in the range of like $500+. Makes you wonder if you should just get like $40 ones and replace them each year or so.
