The other day a person was telling me how he saw this place sell some peaches for about 49 cents a pound and so he bought a couple. Not too long after he visited another store and saw that this place was selling it for about 80 cents a pound. Interestingly enough, he was more excited about the higher priced item. Why you ask? It was because it was a locally grown item.
That was interesting in many ways as usually I wouldn’t expect people to place too much value on that even if it can usually mean a higher quality product. That kind of made me think how people are becoming more educated and aware of what exactly they are buying. It’s actually better I suppose as it supports the local economic growth as well.
