There are a lot of deals that should be coming out here because of boxing day where at the same time this year there should be tax exemptions for certain items such as toys. With that, a lot of companies are highlighting this fact to try and get people to shop as you can save a lot of money on thing such as gaming consoles. This also made companies lazy it seems when it comes to deals where many are relying on the tax break to get people to shop versus actually have a great sale.
Not surprisingly, a lot of people just aren’t eager to spend their money during these times without a significant discount. It’s interesting where a company would feel this will allow them to take a step back as the deal should be “good enough” versus planning a traditional big sale of sort with the tax break simply increasing the odds that people will actually spend more money. That would be the best approach I think personally as it’s a great opportunity to spread yourself to more people I would imagine as well.
Otherwise it’s like running a restaurant where you decide to not have a holiday meal special that you do each year simply because the government gave people some extra money for the season. Thinking people have more money so you don’t need to give the discount anymore will probably scare away more people and leaves the door open for those who still try to offer something big. Be consistent I guess you can say in terms of your offerings huh?
