Getting The Most Out of Local Memberships

Today I decided to visit the aquarium because they said there were supposed to be some Halloween stuff on display such as a diver carving a pumpkin in water. For this, you normally need to buy a ticket to enter, but I actually just purchased a membership for the year before. It wasn’t too bad, and to my knowledge, you’re actually helping the organization to help the animals.

And so it got me thinking — there are a lot of deals locally, here at least, where you could buy an annual pass for pretty much the same price as one, let’s just say, visit to the area in general. For example, I know there are other spots like the Capilano Suspension Bridge, where you could buy a day pass and then use that same amount to essentially get a yearly pass so you can keep visiting it.

So with this in general, it made me think of the value of just looking for these types of deals if you’re looking for things to do. I already visited the aquarium once earlier in the year because I had some type of assignment where I needed to find animals to film and I thought that would be it. But when stuff started to come up again and again — for example, they had a FIFA event where the otters were eating these, let’s just say, FIFA-shaped ice — and now this with a Halloween event, I’m just thinking that’s a pretty good deal.

And if you’re someone who has a family, I can imagine that being a good way to really get your dollar to go the farthest, per se. Because when it comes to doing hobbies and activities, it doesn’t have to be expensive. You don’t always have to spend, let’s just say, an extra fifty dollars for each person just to enjoy the weekend. Sometimes these places have new events all the time, so that’s one way to try to find activities to do. Look for those local memberships that last for a whole year.
