Planning Days of Off During Busy Times or Not

The other day I was actually interested in getting clarification from a company about certain details but as it would appear the person in charge of the department decided to take a vacation during the busiest time of the year for that company. That made me wonder if it was intentional and the contrast from having to run your own business versus just working at a company. Closing down during the busiest times for your company wouldn’t be a good idea. It reminds me of that show Kitchen Nightmares where there was a struggling pizza restaurant owner that said he closed the store on Mondays because he wanted to watch football. Imagine all the loss revenue just for that day alone huh?

Funny enough, I never mind working during busy times as to me it is a challenge. I remember even when working at places such as a McDonalds as it was technically always busy during certain hours and so you got used to it. But I found working through those days and not just booking It off helped in the long run as well as it helped me to stand out as the reliable one to call per se. That opened up more doors of opportunities as well.

Something to think about if you could do the job in question during hectic times as it’s in a sense a competitive advantage versus someone that simply wants a pay cheque the easiest way possible.
