OpenAI Bankruptcy Fears And Closing ChatGPT

While AI is a hot topic and so many people are flocking to ChatGPT to help them in their daily life you would think the company OpenAI would be the next Google as an example. However, apparently, they are on a potential verge of bankruptcy as keeping its operations running is a huge money drain. While there are premium subscription options to help them generate money, it has been reported that it costs about $700,000 a day just to run ChatGPT. That is crazy to think about. Investor money is usually what a startup relies on and investment from companies such as Microsoft is probably helping in that regards.

Just imagine have that much reach and notoriety with your business offerings to the world where unfortunately you just can’t find a way to make enough money to stay afloat. We are often advised not o think too much about money versus making a really great product or service that people want in the beginning. This is just one of those situations where the success is coming too fast for a company, I guess you can say, before they have time to get all the finances in place.

The other option in these cases would be to simply sell the whole business to a company that has the financial means to keep losing money until they are able to turn things around. It’s actually good for some as they can write the loss as an expense. It makes you wonder if they should simply scale down the growth by limiting the number of users even more unless they pay for the service. It’s just not something you think about as the end user in regards to how much it actually costs the business to operate in general.
