Oddly Not Listing Sale Prices At Stores

Today I went into a store with the intent of buying a piece of gear that was on sale as I was waiting for a Black Friday drop to make the plunge. Checking online I saw that its physical store had the item in stock and so I decided to go and buy it. Tomy surprise the price listed in the store was the regular retail price. I asked the employee if there were price differences between the stores and its online site in which they said there wasn’t.

So after showing them the online price the person mentioned it was just marked as the regular retail price as it was a display. That was odd as usually businesses invest time to clearly mark the item’s price for the week. Especially if it’s a sale to attract customers who wouldn’t have known otherwise as they would simply leave or go elsewhere looking for a sale.

My only thought is that it’s a smaller business that specifically focuses on certain products where they expect the customer base to be knowledgeable. Even a simple digital display of the week’s current flyer nearby would be adequate if they don’t have the man power to change prices all the time I thought.
