Usually I monitor my finances virtually every day which could be something as simple as checking the bank account or credit statement to make sure nothing funny is happening. This week I got insanely busy where I haven’t had as much time to check over things while focusing more on the tasks I had to do. Funny enough, I actually ended up spending more money than usual too. It didn’t cause any financial hardship or anything but it was kind of funny I thought on how something as simple as not reviewing the amount of funds in your bank account can cause you to not be as diligent with your money.
In many ways it makes me think of how a lot of people with financial difficulties simply don’t want to look at their bills where it just keeps piling up. In this case though I feel it has more to do with that notion on how if I see how much money I have frequently then I am more inclined to want to do a better job in managing my money as I want to see that figure go up or that it is invested in a smart way. That money is essentially a reflection of my time too.
Who would think that something this small could be like a catalyst of sorts to get you into a good financial management habit huh? Makes me wonder in some ways like for kids if it is better to have piggy banks that actually show you how much money you have. That way you are kind of encouraging them to find ways to earn more as an example as opposed to just spending it on anything.
