I’m sure a lot of people have read the news about allegations of a JPMorgan executive who was sexually abusing a worker with the threat that if he didn’t do as he was told he would essentially not have a career. While virtually everyone initially blasted the company and executive, information started to come out how the alleged victim may have been making everything up. It was a bit too late though as so many people already made up their mind initially to attack the company as it is a common executive scandal type of story I guess you can say.
Assuming everything was indeed made up, how exactly do you prepare your nosiness to deal with allegations like these? There are a lot of people who will simply make things up in an effort to retaliate or extort money from people. In this case, it sounded like the company started to due a deep dive investigation with things like phone records where they found nothing and the accuser was reluctant apparently to participate in the investigation. It even wet as far as a court filing only to be retracted.
Just one of the ugly sides to people in general that you need to be prepared for.
