Over the next few months it looks like I will be needing to swap out my Internet service provider for a different one and the first thing I thought about is how annoying it will be to do so. Most of the online services that I use have been registered with this particular address. He funny thing is most online companies recommend that you never use a web based e-mail or domain based ones as your main contact. Instead, you should use the one that your ISP provides.
Way back that sounded like it made sense as if the third party service went down then you can’t access your information. That sure doesn’t seem like the case now though. Just with that factor alone it is almost worth it just to invest in your own .com name of sort and use it as a global mail address for yourself even if you don’t intend to make a site. That way, regardless if you change your ISP you won’t need to go through the hassle of registering new e-mail accounts.
Well worth the investment as you can get your own domains for like $7 to $11 US nowdays. Would save you the trouble too if you encounter a situation like this.
