With the new years here as expected a lot of companies are releasing new products in hopes to have large sales and revenue. But many times people don’t have the need to buy new stuff if what they have already works. That’s what got me thinking as I got this e-mail from Samsung about its upcoming event for the launch of the S24 lineup. As you can see, they are offering a $100 off coupon code. It sounds a lot, but the phone themselves are probably going to be very expensive too.
That’s where the topic came up on how it seems for many businesses like these you must offer some kind of discount or incentive for people to make a purchase as it isn’t like before where everything is so drastically new that premium pricing doesn’t phase lot of people who want the latest and greatest. When you release too many new items with minor upgrades while still being out of reach financially for many it probably further convinces people not to buy these new products while entertaining the idea of looking elsewhere for solutions.
It may make more sense marketing wise too during times where people are financially tight. Instead of spending $2 Million on an ad campaign I guess like here you could provide discounts and rewards for people to make purchases. It’s probably more enticing that way as well for people on the fence.
