I’m pretty sure everyone has read about the war between Israel and Palestine as the two sides are frequently blaming each other resulting in worldwide protest as well. Now on both sides there are people with the belief that anyone who doesn’t take a strong stance against the other is an enemy. But one thing that was interesting is seeing businesses that had a planned product launch get criticized for not delaying it as people feel everyone should be focused on the war at hand.
I suppose in many ways it’s like people not expecting others to work when there is a death in the family as the employer would get flack for forcing someone to work. I wonder if this is realistic though because everybody gets affected to different things where another person could see it as just an everyday tragedy of sort. Because if everyone had to stop everything for every tragedy, I think it is safe to say we shouldn’t do anything forever as everyday there is a loss of life of some sort which I the argument I heard.
This is one of those scenarios where I think it needs to be handled on a case-by-case basis. I don’t think people will tell all businesses and providers to stop delivering food and water as an example during a tragic time. There is just too much going on in the world everyday to generally tell everyone to stop doing what they are doing or be condemned for it I think. If anything, one should just reach out and ask for support to see if those who have the means to do so can.
