Recently during the Black Friday events I saw a great deal for this Sandisk Micro SD card where for $49.99 you can get the 128GB extreme plus version which was fantastic. While there are a ton of micro sd cards that are cheap with a lot of memory I specifically needed fast read and write card. So I ended up purchasing it online to do a store pickup.
For whatever reason they didn’t have it in stock and so they ended up ordering me one from the warehouse and told me it would be delivered. After almost a month of waiting I finally got the item just to realize it was not the item as advertised. It was actually a slower card version. My first thought was to return to the store where realistically they should fix it by giving me the correct item.
However, that turned into a debate as apparently regardless that they had the picture and description of this plus version of the card they were saying the product code in their system was the slower version. Regardless of why that is that is essentially false advertising for the consumer. Funny enough, it was even suggested to contact the legal department in the corporate office by the store staff.
So as I contacted the corporate at first they were trying to claim to me everything is accurate. I even told them to look on their own product page to see the complaints people left about getting a different product. But after getting them to look at the manufacturer site they admitted there was an error.
Here was the funny part. Instead of trying to get me the accurate product they offered me a 10% off up to a $100 purchase. To me that was silly as essentially I would have to keep a product I wouldn’t have gotten initially while their reward was for me to spend more money with them. Makes you wonder as a consumer how far would you go in this case to make sure they correct the issue? While for just me it’s a few dollars by the sounds of the reviews this must have happened to thousands of people. Do you leave it or file a complaint to the proper authorities?
