Today I went to a grand opening of a mall here called Oakridge Park Mall as this place has been closed for awhile. It generated a lot of excitement and I had to see what it was about. This wasn’t an ordinary mall as everything was essentially high end. There are no basic stores for normal household goods or fast-food restaurants like a McDonalds. Instead, all stores consist of high-priced brands such as Louis Vuitton and even the food court is high sit-down restaurant brands that you normally have to wait a long time for.
This is the first time I saw food courts of sort have so many businesses simply sell out of food. So I guess there is a market for it. It makes you think because at this day and age most people can’t afford this stuff so you would have to be crazy to have such a place. But I suppose they are relying on enough people such as tourists to visit it in order to keep things going.
Sometimes just focusing on high end could be better as you can serve less and earn more too like in these cases if your product warrants the price in people’s mind.
