Wasn’t this unfortunate as recently I decided to give a person an opportunity to create something that he has always wanted to do but never actually followed through with it. For the most part I was willing to provide the necessary resources and support for him to complete the project. So we agreed to have an in-person meeting to make sure everything was understood and that both parties would be okay with everything. As it turned out on the actual day the person never bothered to show up or even respond to his message. What a waste of an opportunity I guess you can say huh?
While I suppose that is a common theme for the person which would explain why they never got anything off the ground, it’s just so odd that people think ignoring the whole scenario would be a solution for it. I know for myself I would be inclined now to want to see them do stuff on their own to prove that they are actually serious in any shape or form. But if it was the other way around and I had to back out for whatever reason it just seems like you would be burning bridges by not saying anything.
The only rational reason I can think of is the person has a mindset that if they all of a sudden said that they can’t make it then they will look extremely bad. Whereas this leaves it up in the open where maybe something happened. While that can be true usually that isn’t the case and approaching things this way is simply unprofessional. Very often too there is no second chances when the opportunity comes by.
