Changing A Narrative For Funding And Support

This was interesting to think about as I was hearing as tory on a person that spent years trying to get funding for their film with no luck as I guess it simply wasn’t original enough compared to others. It seemed okay though in terms of the premise and where they would film a it matches a lot of the requirements to help represent local artists as an example. Then, all they did one day was change the character’s background and health issue where that was apparently enough to get a massive amount of funding.

Imagine that. The basic setup sounds virtually the same where one simply changes the character. That’s almost like a restaurant not getting any support but as soon as they change say the name in general to something that appealed to the locals then all of a sudden it gets business even though the menu is virtually the same. The power of branding and marketing perhaps? It does show you sometimes it’s not about the quality of your offering at all versus relatability per se.
