I was hearing comments today from creatives who do work such as photography and how many feel the time is ticking where companies will no longer want to hire an expensive photographer to try and get a spectacular image for some campaign. Instead, they will simply use AI generated art that looks and feels like the real thing where the mass majority of the public wouldn’t notice. So because of that there are some people who are exiting their profession now before it’s too late.
No one can predict the future of course. But I think in general one should always be learning new skills. Especially ones that relate to what may very well be an industry standard of sort. That way, you don’t have to technically just exit right away per se as you could theoretically try your hands on other things while you continuing doing what has worked for you for a long time.
I think that is more of the concern where one feels something will last forever and neglecting to explore new things when they are in a good position do so. Even investors often continually look for new businesses versus just sticking with the one that was successful. For myself, I am simply learning more about AI solutions both out of curiosity and potential benefit for my future work.
