I thought this story deserved some attention as it is quite incredible I thought. There was this newspaper article I read in the Vancouver Sun about con artists who are able to sell another person’s home without them even know through various tactics involving identity theft. What was really shocking to me though was how even when it was clear that the owner of the home was a victim he was still legally stuck with the mortgage bill. Sure makes you recognize the importance of being aware if anything funny is happening with your credit. Although, this sure makes me wonder why the people who actually approved the applications weren’t held accountable for it as well.
