There was a lot of news today on how the platform Twitter has labelled a news organization here called the CBC as “Government Funded Media” where I would assume for the average individual that reads that the assumption would be this organization is bias when it comes to certain government officials as an example. Therefore, no media organization wants this label.
It’s funny to think where for a lot of new entrepreneurs just getting funding in general is probably a goal that many have regardless if it’s from a government grant as an example. Because it helps to ensure that you can get your business going compared to those that are stuck in the idea phase. But would you care if people started labelling you as a government funded company where your business was say a supermarket?
I suppose with that thought it may depend on what type of business you are in to determine what type of funding you should avoid. For example, a vegan restaurant taking money from a beef slaughterhouse probably wouldn’t be good for PR.
