While I don’t currently trust an AI program to replace a real human when it comes to getting advice or consultation about various topics, I did thought it would be fun to see how it actually analyzes things like contracts. For the most part, it seemed like it did an okay job mentioning about the basics of the contract while giving general red flags and concerns. They do of course emphasize you should still talk to a lawyer.
But what this showed me is how while you shouldn’t rely on it alone, it can give you a good starting point to get specific on the types of questions you should ask a lawyer if you decide to retain one as an example. This is versus setting up a meeting that will cost hundreds of dollars an hour for them to learn the basics of what you need as you explain what you are concerned about. With this, you can kind of jump straight to the point.
That seems to be a common way to use AI chatbots currently in these scenarios where they can help you save time and money versus being an actual replacement. Maybe in the future you can replace people for these types of tasks, but not currently.
