The Same Product With So Many Brands

This was interesting I thought as today I was looking online for a camera mount and this small one caught my interest. One thing I noticed immediately was how in its promotional video they seemed to have blurred out a logo on the model’s shirt. That is odd as you would assume people would want to advertise their company as much as possible. Upon further inspection, the video seemed to be from the manufacturer and so many people end up trying to brand the item as their own.

It reminds me of things like shampoo where many times you are literally getting the exact same product as companies simply brand and market the item differently. I found myself trying to research manufacturers and what parts are used for various products in recent times to save money. For example, Sony makes a lot of the camera sensors you see in various products. So if you are looking for a specific sensor quality then that can be a good way to try and get the same for potentially less. Or companies like LG and Samsung make a lot of the screens that companies use. Similarly, that could help with your value-based shopping research.

In the past it was always about buying certain brands on a surface level whereas nowadays what’s inside the product and who makes it should be at the top of you research list.
