Starting A Business or Find A Job During Strikes

With the strike in the film industry, it was kind of interesting see what a lot of artists were trying to do in the meantime to generate income. Some people are hanging around just hoping things will end soon which can be risky as no one knows when things will be back. So logically a lot of people are immediately trying to find jobs even if it is simple entry level work that one would expect to gain some extra spending money. Then there are other groups of people who are immediately tying to start a side business of sort whether it’s making items to sell or offering classes for a skill they know a lot to teach others.

That’s actually the route you would think an artist would take during a strike like these as you are essentially an entrepreneur. However, a lot of artists do have a traditional employee mentality in many ways. I have read various hypothetical questions where for many entrepreneurs they are often asked if they found themselves broke today all of a sudden what would they do? The answer usually involves starting another business.

Is it simply unrealistic though if you need money right now? If anything, it’s just a reminder that it’s a good idea to have some kind of side hustle when everything is currently working out while being in a comfortable position to try out some business ideas. You never know when something like this will happen.
