Recently I was trying to think of a redesign for one of my projects that involves changing the graphics and direction of what I currently have in place. I don’t really know exactly what I want and so I tried to look for things for inspiration. In the midst of this I actually did something bad financially. In certain cases I actually purchased items such as graphic templates in hopes that I would find something that would work. In a lot of cases they just didn’t end feeling right with what I have.
Eventually though while just scribbling some ideas and really narrowing down what I wanted I pretty much knew what to do. However, it would take quite a bit of time to build it from scratch. So instead I then went to purchase some pre-made resources that would do exactly what I needed to save me a lot of time and ultimately money.
I was thinking this can be true for other things where we often buy all this stuff in hopes that it will give us the answer as opposed to knowing what we need and then purchasing the resources to help us accomplish it. That can be pretty expensive when you are just buying services and resources in hopes to finding an answer.
