With the invasion going on in Ukraine by Russia it seems like the whole world is reacting by introducing sanctions against Russia. You can see how fast this is having a financial impact when it comes to things like investments related to Russia. As well, their currency just took a nosedive. It’s like years of efforts have disappeared in an instant.
Whether or not that is enough to stop them from invading Ukraine is a different story. But I was trying to imagine how frantic it would be during these times if you did have investments related to Russia. Imagine just losing everything. That’s a good reason to diversify of course where if one thing flops then you still have other options.
It makes me think too as some people would say it’s better to invest in items like gold during these times. But how exactly would you transport it if there is a literal war happening where you have to run for your life? Nor as straight forward in that case.
