This was interesting from a business perspective I thought where I was interested in purchasing this little hardware device called the Rode Streamer X which is supposed to have a capture card and built in audio mixers to help people broadcast video online for events such as a podcast. When I looked at the process online they all seemed to say it was about $549. So with that, I went to a nearby store to see if they had it.
Sure enough they did and at first they were actually not sure where the item was placed as they opened up various locked cabinets with no luck. Eventually the interesting thing was there was a tag on the box that marked the price of the product as $529. Usually in these cases the store has to honor the tagged price. I actually didn’t even say anything either. But to my surprise, the employee processed it at the tagged price and it was even marked on the receipt that it was due to an error.
This always impresses me when I see employees do this as a business because it shows they are immediately taking accountability for their error while respecting you as the consumer. This is versus a business fighting tooth and nail to deny you of that error. It makes me want to go and shop again just due to the honesty.
