There was news today that various politicians will be stepping down which means there will be a reshuffle to fill in various roles. For the most part it seems like people just simply expressed they are moving on to other things which generated a lot of comments about the quality of work they have done. For a lot of the negative ones people accused the politicians of simply trying to leave a sinking ship.
That was an interesting thought as generally speaking most people wouldn’t like to tell people they have been fired. So to avoid that a lot of people will simply quit before they can be fired. The extreme case would be someone intentionally doing something bad where it’s only a matter of time until they get caught. Because of that they quit to not have that blemish on their resume.
The worst example are various infamous CEOs of the world where they pretty much put a company into the verge of bankruptcy only to then resign and get a very hefty severance pay so in the end on paper they could theoretically say they ran and managed this large company where they were still at the top when they were running things. I do wonder if people could actually get away with it nowadays with so much information available at a click of a button. You would have to literally live in a different part of the world to hope and hide it I would imagine.
