I have still been researching for a new smartphone as there didn’t seem to be anything that matched my needs while having a reasonable price. While I was very close to simply settling with what was available, I decided to wait still. Sure enough, this week there were a lot of announcements of new phones such as the OnePlus 2 and even Motorola’s new phones. Some of the phones seem so affordable that I could easily get it for free by renewing a contract term with my carrier. At the same time, by waiting the specs and features of the phone are definitely up to par on what I need.
I know for myself experiencing a lot of these moments encourages me to try and be patient for the right deal to appear before spending your hard earned dollars. It’s just so easy otherwise to look at how much money you have in the bank and say you have enough to buy it so why not? Thursdays are usually a great way to practice this since many stores implement new flyers on a Friday here. It’s a pretty safe way to do it too as you will essentially know what the deals will be the next day to slowly build up how rewarding it can be to wait a little while to get better deals.
It definitely gets more challenging such as when it comes to needing to buy something like an expensive tool or resource for your work. But if you do it enough, I find that you learn how the reward will usually be worth it to the point where you will be more creative and resourceful in making what you already have work for you until the right deal comes along. Just takes some practice and training.
