Remembering To Ask For Refund For Cancelled Orders If Necessary

I was reading how for a lot of e-commerce businesses the shipping times can often be so bad currently that orders cannot be fulfilled. Therefore, a lot of businesses are simply cancelling orders knowing that most people wouldn’t want to wait potentially three months for an order they made today as an example.

This brought up an interesting point where for some retailers they actually charge your credit card right away before shipping. I suppose it is to avoid them being scammed as they may not have the resources to hunt people down for unpaid bills. So when they cancel an order there are often times where the merchant doesn’t actually give you a refund at the same time. You would be surprised at how many people overlook this. Especially for items that didn’t exactly cost too much overall.

I tend to always check my credit card transactions frequently as opposed to just at the end of the month. So that indirectly keeps me alert on whether or not it’s been too long to not receive a refund. It’s definitely something to keep in mind during these times where online shopping is being used frequently.
