It’s not out of the ordinary for events that sell tickets to offer people premium packages that give the ticket holder better benefits such as having front row seats at an event whereas everyone else will get a less spectacular view. But there were some events I saw that were listing fees for benefit such as a “skip the line fee” that actually isn’t included in the premium ticket and technically even regular ticket holders could buy this to get in the event faster. I guess it must work where people buy them for companies to offer these right?
It just makes me think how so many basic services nowadays can be repackaged as a premium service one can charge extra money for which I suppose is good for a business if people are willing to pay for it. In some cases such as online only businesses there are actually some that charge money if you insist in phoning into a customer service for a live human to speak to. Like there, you would think this would be a standard service.
Sometimes it’s a matter of wanting to change consumer behavior too such as grocery stores that used to give people shopping bags for free but now in most places you have to pay for it. Therefore, a lot of people simply bring their re-usable bags now. I do wonder how much is too much in terms of trying to charge people for everything other than the absolute basics. Imagine renting a hotel next where you will need to pay extra to turn on the lights in the room as an example.
