Have you ever encountered those situations where when you ask people a simple question or request, they either have an excuse not to address it or they actively make excuses on why they can’t fulfill your request? That’s kind of what I saw today where a person being audited seemed to have all kinds of excuses for not showing his work and progress. Hence, that usually implies that the person has something to hide. From seeing it so many times, it usually is related to the person not actually doing the job as expected or they somehow compromised their agreement with the business such as how one can’t reveal trade secrets.
In this particular case, it would appear the person was often doing personal activities during times when he should have been working. Almost as bad as that story I heard recently of police officers getting fired for playing Pokemon Go while on duty and ignoring alerts. But everything from the hesitation and excuses one would make are usually the same where it’s almost like you need to be trained to pinpoint people who are being dishonest so that you can deal with them immediately.
There was an episode of that show undercover boss I saw recently too where an employee of a business was scolding the CEO and yelling at customers not knowing who he was. At the end of the reveal the employee was placed in the same room with the CEO and franchise owner and she kept denying it at first such as saying she never yells at people. Like there, obviously it isn’t easy to immediately tell if people are being truthful or not. But t makes me curious how one changes the business as a result of that.
For example, do you then as the owner install security cameras everywhere to monitor your business? Do you invest in extra money in undercover workers to find out what is going on when people least suspect it? It’s just the reality where you do have to learn from these experiences as not everyone is trying to make an honest dollar as they say.
