I was thinking as I haven’t renewed my Amazon Prime membership yet because I figure I would renew it when I actually need it next. That way I would technically be maximizing my annual membership as opposed to signing up and not using it for who knows how long. I was then thinking since the price was $79 did I actually make good use of that membership for the year I had it? After thinking about it I think money wise I actually didn’t really save much. It really was more for the convenience of the service.
So it made me wonder when it comes to any kind of membership even like say a Costco card do you actually track whether or not you saved money or just assume you did? I am inclined to say most of us don’t and it makes me wonder if we lose a lot of money this way. Like if you think about it $79 is a lot if all I did was buy things like electronics from time to time. It’s almost like I would have to buy more than normal to make up the cost and at the same time if I was normally willing to wait for a standard shipping then I didn’t really save anything.
Making you buy more than you normally do just to get your money’s worth is usually not a good idea of course.
