I was talking to a person recently where I mentioned how I attended a class that cost me almost fifty dollars just for a one day session. This shocked him of course as that is rather expensive when you think about it. However, for me I felt it was worth it as one of the class I took before was almost the same price wise. However, the knowledge I gained helped me to earn a decent mid four figure range of extra income. With that in mind, to me I am simply re-investing some money from the same venture where if it is producing positive results on its own merit then to me it’s not that expensive.
I think the bad thing would be if I wasn’t making any money from it where I instead take like the fifty dollars from a different line of work that I do to fund this education. While people usually need to do that at the start, continually doing that I think makes you a little lazy or less eager to want to make sure that you are actually producing results before justifying the notion of investing more money into it. It’s just too easy to say you have like extra money in your bank overall and so you may as well spend it.
This way too, it makes you want to find ways to get your business going with things like sweat equity whenever possible as opposed to assuming that throwing money at the issue would be the best choice. Having to “borrow” money from other parts of your life as opposed to trying to make something profitable on its own merit can be stealing the “free” education in itself in many ways too. You will instead learn how to be resourceful and effective with what you have specifically for the new industry or venture that you are entering.
