The other day I was reading how this fairly new business was looking to develop some marketing material where because they are a start-up they don’t have a lot of money to throw around. A lot of the things they wanted to do to create awareness would normally require items such as paying for a permit. However, as it appears they seemed to be willing to purposely bypass all this and risk dealing with it if they get caught.
The most interesting part is how normal they think this is as they kind of have that mentality that everyone does it when they are starting out. There are a lot of other things too such as people try to do business all in cash to avoid having to report taxes as an example. Some successful people even mention how they did things like steal from others to get to where they are.
It’s just kind of crazy to think about when you realize how many people don’t exactly play by the rules as opposed to doing what they think they need to do to get ahead. One analogy I was given was like car drivers where if everyone else is technically driving over the speed limit then you should just go with the flow of the traffic too. Does that make it right and normal in your mind?
