Holidays And Timezones

financial literacy

Imagine having a certain one day holiday that is the most profitable time for your business. Would be nice to have a repeat of that the next day right? That’s what I noticed one company actually did as they specifically catered to people for a Chinese New Years event where they held a raffle contest of sort. They actually held different contests for people who live in different timezones. As you know New Years would happen at different times for everyone. So instead of having one generic contest pool they wanted to try and maximize their offerings by breaking it up.

You might say it’s the same thing at the end of the day in terms of how much profit and participation they would get. While that may be true, just the notion of say starting east and then going west to cater to people who are about to celebrate something like this is interesting. It’s almost like knowing a blizzard will travel from east to west and so you take your mobile business selling some kind of heating product as you know it will be a hot item as the storm will arrive to these areas eventually. Just the notion of that sounds like an adventure.
