Having A Rachel Zegler In Your Projects

By now I am sure everyone has heard of how the Disney remake if snow white bombed as a lot of people blame the actress, Rachel Zegler, for that as she was seen publicly criticizing the original movie’s direction. Therefore, for the end product they ended up taking away so many of the original charm of the old film and it seemed like it was a movie about activism per se. At the same time, she started to make public statements about topics that were very divisive which didn’t help and refused to take it down.

With the failure now in the past, apparently, she still doubles down on her choices saying “There are obviously things that are at stake by being outspoken, but nothing is worth innocent lives” and “My heart doesn’t have a fence around it, and if that is considered my downfall?” There are worse things.” The circumstances are so different here though as she is a public figure working in a profession that relies heavily on perception. Therefore, it is kind of a responsibility to make sure you represent the company that hired you in the best way possible to help ensure success of the project.

This is not like working at a 9-5 job and then people arguing about politics in their spare time. If anything, this is kind of like working at a store where while you are on the floor you are arguing and making political statements in-front of the customers. Wrong place, wrong time. I think this is why people are so concerned about attaching the wrong people to their projects as their beliefs and ideology can be literally the death sentence to a project. How would you screen people for this? Or, would you simply get them to sign an agreement not to be like this until after a specific time period?
