Deal Shopping For Cheap Junk Food or Healthy Items

So today was the last day of a very good coupon I had where you could essentially get three dollars back for spending ten dollars. Thirty percent off your purchase isn’t too shabby. While I did have to buy some groceries for the most part I still had about three dollars and fifty cents to spend to reach the ten dollar mark for the deal. My first thought was to go to the snack areas to see if there were any cheap deals there.

As I thought about I was thinking this felt like a waste of money. Even though it is in a sense a free purchase I didn’t really want to buy junk food as it would be like making an impulsive purchase that isn’t very good. But there just seemed to be way more variety of items at this price point. If you were to go with the healthier options they usually float around the five dollar mark or so.

I then decided to literally walk through the whole supermarket to see if I could find a deal as usually there are a ton of unadvertised deals. Walking through the meat section and all didn’t seem good as everything was almost ten dollars alone. Going through places like organic areas was definitely way too pricey. It always seemed to go back to the snack and treats area. But after going around the freezer sections I noticed that there were actually some frozen bagged fruits for sale. In this case, it was about a 600g bag of blueberries for about $3. Not a bad deal I thought. It felt like a better purchase too than say a bag of chocolates. So I went with that.

It just made me think how even I can have a bad habit at times thinking that if you want a good deal that’s cheap then it’s gotta be something unhealthy or artificial. If you look around though there are always even healthy choices that you can get for a great bargain. Better for you too.
