I was reading this crazy story today where not too long ago a person named Trevor Jacob posted a video on YouTube that showed him jumping out of a plane as it was implied the engines failed. He was able to escape while at the same time having a ton of cameras in various places to capture the moments. That’s what made it suspicious. After an actual federal investigation, he apparently admitted to intentionally crashing the plane. From the report, it sounded like it was due to him getting a product sponsorship opportunity and I would imagine his goal was to get as many views as possible.
Throughout this investigation apparently, he kept misleading officials in which it ended being obstruction and so him admitting to everything was a plea deal. This is more common nowadays where people essentially fake a situation to try and get more attention and clout for their business. I don’t know if he will ever recover from this as it seems like a big issue.
I don’t think it’s a good idea even though I am sure many people get away with stunts like these.
