While going through the supermarket today I was passing by the clearance aisle for chocolates as the same items were on the shelves for weeks so far without moving. The prices weren’t the lowest I have seen them before such as a tin of fancy chocolates usually costing about $15 which was on clearance for $10. Today, that same item dropped to a little over five dollars. Likewise, there were these boxes of toffee candy that usually sell for about $7 which were on clearance for about $5. Today, they were a little over $2 which is often the cheapest I have seen them go for.
It’s a great example on how even if the it is listed as a clearance price they can get cheaper in the same vein as a product being on sale. The only way to really know what a good purchase price is to research past prices or simply remembering them from the previous years. It’s never ending in terms of finding the best deals and you just can’t rely on those fancy clearance and sale signs to tell you what a good deal is.
