Breaking Tradition For The Sake of Money

It’s Christmas coming up and one thing that people often get is a Christmas tree. Whether it’s fake or real it’s pretty much a tradition to have one when it comes to how the holiday is celebrated. So it was interesting to at first hear a person say that they can’t celebrate the holiday because budget wise it’s either certain gifts or the tree. The tree was essential to them as without it simply isn’t a Christmas present day.

I was thinking at times like this isn’t it better to not just follow everything exactly to traditional standards if it means the difference between getting like the present in this case or say going into debt? Sometimes I feel we don’t put our financial health first where instead we worry too much in trying to maintain standards that we can’t really afford.

It’s interesting how we are often told things when it comes to or physical health as an example to do what’s best for you as opposed to doing things that are bad for your body to impress others. Come to think of it I don’t think I was ever taught in school the same type of philosophy when it comes to money. In many ways I think it’s something we should think more of as simple as it sounds.
