There was this funny piece of news I have been reading recently where there is this donair costume being auctioned off and people were expecting to go for maybe a few hundred dollars. But as the auction is going it is currently sitting at over $16,000. To my knowledge there isn’t anything super special about it. But apparently a lot of the bidding is due to people arguing over who created the donair first as an example which is turning this into a rivalry.
I was just thinking, for $16,000 isn’t it better just to pay someone to make you a custom donair costume? There is nothing proprietary about t and I would imagine even one thousand dollars could probably get you something semi decent if it was custom made. $10,000 and that thing better have gold or something on it as well is what I am thinking.
It’s just funny to think about on how much we spend at times just to compete with others like here versus the actual product itself. I suppose it’s a form of entertainment as well.
