Asking Strangers For Knowledge On Sales And Product Value

This was fun today as I was in the super market which happens to sell electronics. I decided to see if there were any good deals. There was also a gentlemen who seemed to be wondering if he should buy a particular speaker as he was unsure about brands and which one had the best value. He first asked me if I have heard of the brand that was being displayed and I mentioned that I didn’t. Therefore, he decided to pass on it and continue to look.

Afterwards he asked me what brand was considered good as he doesn’t want to waste money on something bad. That of course told me that he was looking for a good deal and I just happened to know which companies were having big sales for those items. As a result, I immediately told him of a store that is having a big sale and boy did he gleam in excitement so quickly. After telling him the site where he can check out the deals before he went to the store he was saying how he was so happy that he asked me.

One of those right places at the right time I guess you can say for him where he just happened to be talking to like a bargain hunter. In general though, many times I am surprised people don’t ask others around them for advice. For items like video games, odds are if you are confused and there are others looking at the same product they may know a lot about the product to help you save money. Granted that should be the store’s job to have employees to do that, but in many cases big box stores are understaffed or don’t hire enough people with specific product expertise.

It’s no different than going to sports store and seeing someone who appears to be carefully analyzing what’s on display. Odds are they are an expert too who can help you with the information you need to make a good purchase. Don’t be afraid to ask.
