Asking For Friends And Family For Business Support or Not

Usually when you are starting out in any kind of venture the challenge will be to make yourself visible as people will likely pay attention to the company and brands they are familiar with. As a result, most people ask friends and family members to help them out in an effort to increase their public profile where hopefully that can build some traction. For the most part it can be a good thing to ask for help and support as people are usually more than willing to do so.

But what got me thinking for one situation is how a person relied so much on the support of friends and family members that he wasn’t actually pushing himself to make a better product that truly stands out since the support he was receiving gave a false sense of quality per se. I guess the best example is someone not being too good of a singer where no one but family shows up and they keep telling the person they are better than the most famous people to the point where they think what they do is good enough.

In that situation it’s almost better not to get support and attempt to use feedback from those who don’t know you to see what it takes to get them to prefer what you offer huh?
