What a risky thing to do I thought. Basically I saw a company with a business model where they encourage people to buy items together so that they can get a wholesale discount of sort. To do this they list the retail prices of the items as well as the cost that they actually pay to acquire the items. Along with that are the discounted prices they receive from the supplier when they purchase X amount of products. With that they openly show the customer how much they will charge them. Example 5% of the price they pay to acquire the products.
I just thought that most customers would be cynical over seeing how much one actually makes from a purchase as usually unless the company is giving it away for free or losing money people would be apprehensive about it. Although, I suppose if your customer base is a very niche group that likes to group buy a lot for example that it won’t matter much as odds are they know the prices already.
It would be interesting to see this on things like grocery items as the markups on those are through the roof usually. It would be especially interesting on businesses that normally rely on a business model where they sell the main unit for virtually nothing to draw in the shopper in hopes to get them to buy extremely marked up accessories and attachments to make up for it.
