Weighing The Cost And Savings of Lining Up For Deals

It seems like a huge sports clothing store is closing down today at one location and as expected there were people lining up. It’s not surprising as they were advertising 50% off which can ne a great discount if you needed to buy something. As I was just passing by, it made me think how many times people line up say a day before for these sales to the point where the deal may not be worth it.

Even at fifty percent of for basic items, imagine the time you spent sitting there and potentially taking the day off. This is versus working and earning money where you could have earned more to the point where even buying the item at regular price would have made you come out ahead financially. Plus you didn’t have to line up for days. I am always surprised when people don’t think about that.

It’s more ridiculous when people line up the day before just for say one free can of soda or something like that. I can see if it is a really sought after item, but not just for plain savings of a few dollars. For the sake of the experience if you get to mingle with like minded people then maybe that can be fun for same. But for savings your time is worth money too.
